More than 6,000 people who have expressed a desire to join the ranks of the Ukrainian army and released on parole are already at the front, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) expect their number to increase to 10,000.

"Released on parole. More than 6,000 are serving, defending our state with weapons in their hands," a source in the AFU General Staff said.

He said about 7,000 such applications have been received so far.

"Now fewer are being received, several dozen daily," the source said and expressed hope that the maximum number of such applicants will be attracted and their number will be about 10,000 people.
