Sybiha, Blinken sign memo providing for possible assistance of $825 mln for stability of Ukrainian energy system
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Ukraine and the United States on cooperation in ensuring the stability of the Ukrainian energy system at NATO headquarters.
The memorandum provides for the possibility of American assistance in the total amount of $825 million.
As reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the document stipulates a legal framework for improving the stability of the Ukrainian energy system, in particular, restoring its critical infrastructure, introducing distributed generation, reforming the energy sector and facilitating the post-war transition to a low-carbon, competitive and European-integrated economy.
A meeting of the foreign ministers of the Alliance member countries is taking place at NATO headquarters in Brussels (Belgium) on December 3-4.
