MP, leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko in Washington, during a special panel discussion at the Forum of the International Democratic Union, called on Western partners to strengthen Ukraine to such an extent as to ensure its victory, the European Solidarity said on its website on Friday.

He stressed that Putin is not going to stop, so the only way to disrupt his strategic plans is to give Ukraine enough weapons and provide strong sanctions against the Russian economy, his goal is not only to destroy an independent Ukraine, but also to split the West.

Poroshenko warned against illusions that allegedly Russia is almost sitting at the negotiating table, and Ukraine should be forced to join them, but this is not true because Putin will not stop, because he is a KGB officer specially trained to lie.

"The second recommendation: do not be afraid of Putin, he feeds on our fears. Putin understands only one language, and that is the language of strength, the language of our unity, the language of our solidarity. This is the only way we can prevail," Poroshenko said.

Poroshenko recalled that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia was stopped thanks to the unprecedented courage of the Ukrainian people and the weapons that the Trump administration was the first to provide. Now, according to Poroshenko, Russia is trying to take advantage of the depletion of Ukraine and the world, intimidating everyone with missile strikes.

"They started attacking critical energy facilities, civilian infrastructure, hospitals, educational institutions, all civilian facilities, killing innocent civilians every night throughout Ukraine. They are destroying our industrial potential, trying to intimidate the Ukrainian people. And we have been living in this for more than two years," Poroshenko recalled.

"After the U.S. elections, the intensity of their offensive operations is increasing. And the losses of Putin and Russian troops are also record-breaking. What should we do together now? First of all, we welcome the arrival of President Trump. Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting Michael Wohl here and hearing that he is determined, like you, to bring peace through strength. We must show this strength," Poroshenko believes.

Poroshenko is convinced that we should not waste time and territory and people. To make Ukraine stronger, it is necessary to supply the most modern weapons, including air defense, electronic warfare systems, drones and the latest technologies, because the war in Ukraine in 2024 is completely different, compared not only with 2014, but also with 2022.
