Invaders shoot dead 109 Ukrainian POWs since year start – ombudsman
The Russian invaders executed at least 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs), and 177 such cases were recorded in previous years of the full-scale invasion, said Dmytro Lubinets, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada.
"In 2024 alone, it was officially confirmed that the Russians shot dead 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war," Lubinets said on the air of the national telethon on Tuesday.
According to him, there are also regular reports of numerous violations of the rights of prisoners of war by the occupiers. "When we manage to record it, we do it," the ombudsman said.
