Poland brings its air defense forces to highest alert due to Russian attack on Ukraine
Poland's air defense and radar reconnaissance have been put on high alert due to the Russian missile attack on Ukraine, and NATO aircraft have also been lifted into the air, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported on Friday.
"Attention, in connection with another attack by the Russian Federation with cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles on objects located, including in the west of Ukraine, military aviation has begun operating in our airspace," the message says.
As reported, the operational commander of the armed forces used all the forces and means at his disposal, pairs of fighters on duty were lifted into the air, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance equipment were brought to the highest alert.
