Russian videos of interrogations of Ukrainian POWs are part of info war – AFU
Videos of interrogations of captured Ukrainian servicemen, distributed by the Russian side, are part of the information war and are used to demoralize the Ukrainian military and civilian population, the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine states.
"Through such interrogations, the enemy is trying to spread propaganda narratives, creating the illusion of 'mistrust' of the military and political leadership of the state, the Defense Forces of Ukraine or 'surrender' of territories. This is also used to justify enemy aggression. The videos may contain statements taken out of context or inaccurate facts that can be interpreted in favor of the enemy. Thus, the aggressor is trying to form false ideas about the situation at the front and the general mood in Ukrainian society," the force said on the Telegram channel.
The AFU Air Force reminded that captured soldiers may testify under physical or psychological pressure. "Under interrogation conditions carried out by the aggressor, they may be forced to voice what is imposed on them, without reflecting their true opinion or position. This is not evidence of treason or lack of patriotism, but rather the result of difficult captivity. It is important to be careful and critical of videos distributed by the enemy. It is necessary to be aware that these materials may be partially or completely falsified," the force said in the statement.
