Zelenskyy to discuss in Brussels ways of speedy strengthening of Ukraine
During a visit to Brussels, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will raise the issue of strengthening Ukraine in terms of defense and diplomacy and reach agreement on the matter with all European leaders.
"First of all, everyone who will be present there have the right to raise a particular issue [about deployment of peacekeeping contingent]. The main thing we need now is to urgently strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield, politically, and geopolitically. We should have a common vision of this strengthening with all leaders, primarily European," he told reporters, when asked whether the issue of deploying peacekeeping contingent from other countries in Ukraine would be discussed during the meeting in Brussels.
The President also emphasized the importance of sending such signals to the United States and the new presidential administration that "we are all united in our desire not only for a just peace of Ukraine, but also for results."
According to Zelenskyy, those results are needed next year.
"And so the question may not only be about the contingent, there will also be issues that Ukraine needs to be aware of. This is our long-range capabilities, the maximum financing of our domestic production of our capabilities to support the Armed Forces," he said.
As reported, Radio Liberty said on the Telegram channel that Zelenskyy may raise the issue of deploying foreign troops in Ukraine in Brussels on Wednesday.
He is scheduled to meet with the leaders of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and NATO in Brussels on December 18, Reuters reported earlier.
