Two prosecutors, two officials of MSEC suspected of illegally obtaining disability status

Prosecutors of the PGO General Inspectorate, during the investigation of criminal proceedings on the facts of illegally obtaining disability groups by officials of the prosecutor's office at various levels, exposed two prosecutors, as well as two officials of the medical and social expert commissions (MSEC).
"According to the investigation, the head and deputy head of district prosecutor's offices in different regions of the country illegally received the status of persons with a disability group two. As a result, one suspect fraudulently took over UAH 1 million in pension payments, and the other over UAH 400,000. It was also established that the officials of the medical and social expertise commission groundlessly assigned the prosecutors a permanent disability group two, which they indicated in their inspection reports, which were then sent to the Pension Fund of Ukraine for the calculation and payment of pensions," the department said on its website on Thursday.
Two prosecutors were notified of suspicion of fraud (Part 4 and Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and two officials of the Medical and Social Expertise Commission were notified of official forgery (Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Currently, the issue of choosing measures for the suspects and removing them from their positions is being decided.
The investigation into abuses in the medical and social expertise system continues. Other persons involved in corruption schemes are being identified.
The Ukrainian State Research Institute of Medical and Social Problems of Disability of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, in pursuance of the order of the Prosecutor General's Office, continues to verify the decisions of the medical and social expertise commission.
In addition, an internal investigation into possible abuses in obtaining disability groups by prosecutors has been completed, the findings of which have been attached to the materials of the aforementioned criminal proceedings. During its conduct, five prosecutors were dismissed from the prosecutor's office, and another seven were dismissed from administrative positions.
Subsequent verification of the identified facts is carried out through investigative and procedural actions within the criminal process.
