Defense Ministry: Concept of transforming military education in Ukraine is strategic plan until 2032
The concept of transforming military education in Ukraine is a strategic plan until 2032, which includes a systematic approach to training, and introduction of the best world practices, said Deputy Minister of Defense, Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk.
"The concept of transforming military education in Ukraine is a strategic plan until 2032. It includes a systematic approach to training, introduction of the best world practices and close cooperation with other government agencies and international partners," he said in an interview with ArmyInform.
According to the deputy minister, this reform is not just an update of standards, but an investment in the future of the Ukrainian army, which will be able to effectively respond to modern challenges and ensure national security.
In particular, the Ministry of Defense reported that one of the key transformation tools is the DEEP (Defense Education Enhancement Programme), which has been operating in Ukraine for over 10 years. Thanks to this program, Ukrainian military educational institutions have gained access to advanced Western methods and educational technologies.
Melnyk noted that the main achievements in this area are: more than 200 educational programs have been improved; more than 15,000 Ukrainian military personnel have completed the exercises; simulation training has been developed, allowing complex scenarios to be worked out in a safe environment; training periods have been increased for key specialties: snipers, drone operators, anti-aircraft gunners.
"Special attention is paid to the training of military pilots. The process of obtaining private pilot certificates by cadets has been optimized, which allows us to reduce the training time for F-16 pilots by almost three months. This provides an important operational advantage in the air," Melnyk emphasized.
According to him, one of the main goals of military education is to educate a new generation of military leaders capable of making effective decisions in the most difficult conditions and leading their units to victory.
"This approach especially concerns officers and sergeants, who are a key link in the Armed Forces," the deputy minister added.
