SBU, Defense Forces attack warehouses of Engels airfield, chemical plants and refineries – SBU source
As a result of a joint special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU)) and the Defense Forces last night, a number of targets in the Russian Federation were hit: chemical plants, refineries and warehouses at the Engels airfield, an SBU source told Interfax-Ukraine.
"As a result of the joint special operation of the SBU and the Defense Forces, the Aleksinsky Chemical Plant (Tula region) was hit. After the operation of the SBU drones, a large fire was recorded. Ammunition depots, storing FABs, smart bombs, cruise missiles, at the Engels airfield (Saratov region), were hit. The SBU drones have achieved their goals, and the ‘bavovna’ [Ukrainian for ‘cotton’ – a bang sound heard during an attack in Russia and temporarily occupied territories] is still burning," the agency's source said.
Also, according to the source in the SBU, the Saratov Oil Refinery, where a large-scale fire was recorded, and the Bryansk chemical plant were attacked. "Direct missile hits on the facility and a large fire with subsequent detonations were recorded," he specified.
"The SBU, together with the Defense Forces, continues to work on enemy military facilities and enterprises working for the Russian military-industrial complex. Each affected ammunition depot, refinery, oil depot or chemical plant is a painful blow to the ability of the Russian Federation to wage war in Ukraine," the source added.
