One million citizens call Ukrainian Red Cross hotline
One million citizens have called the Ukrainian Red Cross hotline.
"People contact our hotline with a wide variety of questions. Operators not only provide full information support, but are also ready to provide first psychological assistance if necessary," the organization said on Facebook, quoting Maria Nazarko, the head of its information center.
Since February 24, 2022, after the full-scale armed invasion of the Russian Federation of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Red Cross hotline has significantly expanded the range of its services and operates on a permanent basis, providing support to the population on a daily basis. Operators not only process routine requests, but also provide psychosocial support, consult on financial programs, humanitarian aid, various projects, services and the organization's activities, and also accept requests related to the search for missing persons. In addition, operators conduct monitoring calls and social surveys.
Unlike standard "trust lines", the Ukrainian Red Cross hotline is distinguished by its multidisciplinary nature. Each request is considered individually, and operators do everything possible to give a full answer or send a person to the appropriate specialists.
On average, a hotline operator processes up to 100 incoming calls per day. Some of them come through the information center and the Unified Veterans Line, created in April 2024 jointly with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, which provides support to veterans, their families and the families of fallen soldiers.
The hotline operates daily from 09:00 to 18:00. You can get advice or psycho-emotional support by calling 0800332656. A specialist from the search service works on the line to help with the search for missing persons. All calls are free of charge.
