Khortytsia group: Main direction of occupiers' efforts remains Pokrovsk, which they trying to bypass from west

Ukrainian forces maintain positions in the cities of Toretsk and Chasiv Yar, as well as in Velyka Novosilka, are fighting in the streets, the main direction of the occupiers' efforts remains Pokrovsk, which they are trying to bypass from the west, Spokesman for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of forces Viktor Trehubov said.

"The enemy is trying very hard to advance west of Pokrovsk. That is where they are making their greatest efforts. Over the past week, the number of clashes in Pokrovsk direction alone has been equal to half of the clashes on the front as a whole (...). This is their main ambition, to bypass Pokrovsk from the west. Accordingly, there are heavy battles there, and Ukrainian forces are trying to stop them and prevent them from enveloping the city and from interrupting logistical routes. The situation is dynamic," Trehubov said on the national telethon on Monday.

"Ukrainian forces are directly in the city of Pokrovsk," he said, adding that there are a very significant number of occupiers there and they are strengthening that direction. "It is very intense and very tense there," he said.

Answering a question about the situation in Toretsk, Trehubov reported constant rotations of Russian troops in that direction. "Although this is happening in several directions in our area of responsibility. It is difficult to say whether there should be a final push there. They have been attacking Toretsk for quite a long time. And so far they have not had success, despite the fact that they have destroyed a significant part of the city, despite the fact that they tried to push the Ukrainians out of some areas, despite the fact that they took control of individual points, they have not been able to push the Ukrainians out of the city, despite very long and active attacks."

Velyka Novosilka, which some sources reported that Russian forces took control of, Trehubov said the following: "Fighting continues there, Ukrainian troops hold positions within the settlement, although this is closer to its edge, and therefore I would not comment on the loss of Velyka Novosilka, because we have such a rule: we do not comment on what did not happen."

According to the spokesman, urban fighting continues in Kramatorsk direction in the area of Chasiv Yar. "The Russians continued to try to use the canal pipes and push out the Ukrainian troops. As of now, urban fighting continues... It is very difficult to comment on urban fighting, in fact, it is a fight for every street. These are constant attempts by the Russians to either push out the Ukrainian forces or destroy any positions that can be held. I mean those buildings in which the Ukrainians could hold the line," Trehubov said.
