McDonald's resumes operation of restaurant near Lukyanivska metro station in Kyiv

The McDonald's in Ukraine company on Thursday, February 13, resumed operation of the restaurant near the Lukyanivska metro station in Kyiv, which was previously damaged by the Russian air attack on the city on January 18, the company's press service reported to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
"The restoration work lasted almost a month, because this time the damage was most serious. The facade and ceiling of the restaurant, as well as the interior; valuable equipment of the company, for example, cash registers and monitors for receiving orders at McDonald's and windows for receiving express orders; some equipment in the kitchen and refrigeration equipment were damaged. The premises of the training center for McDonald's employees, located on the second floor of the building, were also damaged," the company said.
As noted, thanks to compliance with safety protocols and the coordinated actions of the team during the alarm, the restaurant was closed, the employees were in shelter, and no one was hurt.
"We want to testify that we remain with the Ukrainians and continue to work for them," the company emphasized.
As reported, as a result of the enemy missile attack on Kyiv on January 18, three people were killed and three were wounded. Several buildings, cars, a water supply pipeline and the entrance to the Lukyanivska metro station were damaged. An Oschadbank branch and a McDonald's restaurant were also damaged.
The first McDonald's restaurant in Ukraine opened in Kyiv on May 24, 1997.
McDonald's revenue in Ukraine for the first half of 2024 increased to UAH 7.8 billion, which is 44% more than in the first half of 2023, profit amounted to UAH 874.8 million - 82% more, according to YouControl data.
