Poland buys Starlink systems for Ukraine to protect its own strategic interests – Minister of Digitalization
Protecting military access to the Internet in Ukraine meets Poland's strategic interests, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalization of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski.
"We are buying Starlinks to protect the Internet in Ukraine, because it is of strategic importance. The Ukrainian front would collapse without the Internet, and it is beneficial for Poland to keep the front away from Warsaw," the press service of the Ministry of Digital Affairs reported on the social network X.
He added that Poland is working on purchasing additional Starlink kits.
"Today, about 30,000 Starlink kits are operating in Ukraine, which we have purchased. We are in the process of purchasing another 5,000 kits, which should provide access to the Internet in Ukraine for the army and civilian use," he said.
