Trump: If Russia had not been expelled from G8, there would have been no war
Russia should never have been expelled from the G8, said US President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters on Tuesday.
Trump said that he doesn’t think he was really in politics at that point, but he knew that President Obama hadn't liked it and that they had voted against Russia. He said that if they hadn't voted against Russia—which he thinks was a very stupid decision, since the group consisted of people who sat around the table, as he had done many times with them and gotten to know them—then if it had been the G8, with Russia included, he believed the senseless, deadly war wouldn't have happened. He said it had been a very bad decision.
He emphasized that now is not the time for Russia to return to the G8.
He concluded by saying that he doesn’t think it is the right time and that they had missed the opportunity. He added that they had missed it by another so-called great decision made by some people.
