Zelenskyy removes chief commander Ivan Havryliuk from Staff HQ – decree

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has removed chief commander Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk from the Commander-in-Chief Staff Headquarters.

Corresponding decree No. 304 was published on the presidential website.

"In accordance with Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Defense of Ukraine,’ based on the proposal of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, I decree ... to remove chief commander I. Havryliuk from the Staff of the Commander-in-Chief Headquarters," the text of the decree states.

The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.

As reported, Lieutenant General Havryliuk remains in the Ministry of Defense team, and his new area of ​​responsibility will be announced soon.

In October 2023, Ivan Havryliuk was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense for Military-Technical Policy. In the Ministry of Defense, Havryliuk directly coordinated the procurement direction. He was appointed to the post of First Deputy Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov on May 17, 2024.

In April-August 2022, Havryliuk was the chairman of the Ukrainian working group at the aid coordination center in Germany. Before that, he served as the head of the Main Logistics Directorate and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From April 2015 to March 2018, Havryliuk was in charge of the Rear Services of the Armed Forces
