SBU agents in Kharkiv detain woman suspected of treason

Ukraine’s State Security Service (SBU) in Kharkiv region, under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office, has detained an unemployed resident of the regional center who was correcting Russian air raids in the city.

"SBU investigators informed her of suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law), Part 1 of Article 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine) and Part 2 of Article 436-2 (justification of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine)," the SBU reports.

According to the investigation, the woman was recruited by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), which drew attention to her because of her calls on social networks for the creation of so-called buffer zones in Ukraine.

The woman received a list of geolocations via Telegram that "had to be checked and given a detailed description." She established that the Defense Forces units were located at these coordinates and began to scout their numbers and technical equipment.

"SBU officers exposed the traitor immediately after her recruitment. This allowed them to document her every step and detain her at her place of residence. At the same time, the Security Service took measures to secure the locations of the Ukrainian troops," the SBU notes.

During the search, law enforcement officers seized computer equipment and a phone with evidence of the suspect's work at the FSB.

Linguistic expertise confirmed that in her posts on social networks, the suspect publicly disseminated the Kremlin's theses.

The court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention without the right to post bail. The maximum sanction provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
