The US State Department has called on Russia to "immediately cease" strikes on Ukraine, adding that Washington is closely monitoring the situation with the shelling, and emphasizing that "it was time for an end to the war," Reuters reports.
"Russia’s strikes against Ukraine’s cities need to stop immediately. We condemn these strikes and extend our deepest condolences to the victims and to the families of all those affected," a State Department spokesperson said.
