British intelligence: North Korean troops likely lose over 6,000 soldiers in battles with Ukrainian troops in Kursk region of Russia

The British Ministry of Defense reported, citing intelligence information, that the DPRK has most likely lost over 6,000 soldiers in combat operations in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. This was stated in a message from the British Ministry of Defense on the X platform on Sunday.
The total number of casualties is more than half of the approximately 11,000 DPRK troops initially deployed in the Kursk region. According to open sources, the DPRK subsequently deployed a limited additional number of troops in the Kursk region, the Defense Ministry's intelligence service quoted in a post on X, noting that this level of casualties is the result of large-scale, very exhausting infantry attacks.
The report mentioned a visit to North Korea by Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, who met with Kim Jong-un on June 4 (for the second time in three months). British intelligence suggests that Shoigu is negotiating on behalf of Putin about the possibility of involving the DPRK military in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine (so far they have only been involved in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation).
