Intelligence Agency, MFA evacuate 176 people from Israel, incl 133 citizens of Ukraine – Coordination HQ

On June 22, the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, conducted a successful operation to evacuate civilians from Israel, where the security situation continues to worsen.

"As a result of the special operation, 176 people were evacuated from the territory of Israel, of whom 133 are citizens of Ukraine, as well as citizens of Moldova, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Estonia and the USA," the message published by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War states.

The plane with passengers landed in the Republic of Moldova, from where the Ukrainians will continue their journey home.

According to the evacuees, the operation was an opportunity for them to safely leave the conflict zone. They expressed gratitude to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the embassy, ​​and the Main Intelligence Agency for organizing the evacuation.

"The operation is part of broader efforts to return Ukrainian citizens due to the worsening security situation in the Middle East," the message on the Telegram channel states.

The Ukrainian Main Intelligence Agency and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, with the support of international partners, have previously conducted successful evacuations from Syria and Lebanon, returning hundreds of Ukrainians and foreigners, including women and children.

"We express our gratitude to the official representatives of the Republic of Moldova for their assistance in carrying out the evacuation," the Coordination Headquarters concluded.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed about the evacuation of citizens of Ukraine and partner countries from Israel on the eve of the US strike on nuclear facilities in Iran: "On the eve of active actions by the United States against nuclear program facilities in Iran, Ukrainian diplomats and the Main Intelligence Agency carried out an important stage of evacuating citizens of Ukraine and partner countries from the danger zone: 176 people were evacuated from Israel to Egypt, and evacuation from the territory of Iran to Azerbaijan is also underway," the head of state wrote earlier on the Telegram channel.
