Russia kills two people, wounds six more in Odesa port with Iskander – dpty PM

On Thursday afternoon, Russia struck the Odesa seaport with an Iskander missile, which hit the area of one of the berths and killed two people, said Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba.

"At that time, people were working on the pier, metal was being unloaded from a foreign vessel under the flag of Sao Tome and Principe. Two people died. One of them was a dockworker, the other was a truck driver," he wrote on Telegram.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, six more were injured, including employees of one of the port operators, a driver, and two Syrian citizens, crew members of a civilian vessel.

"People are receiving all the necessary assistance. Infrastructure facilities were also damaged: portal cranes, equipment, warehouses," Kuleba added.

He recalled that Russia has been shelling Ukrainian ports for the fourth year in a row.

"This shelling is further evidence that Russia is deliberately trying to destroy our transport hubs, export opportunities, and the lives of civilians. Free and safe shipping should not be an exception, but the norm. There should be a tough international response," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
