The Ukrainian Red Cross shared its experience of humanitarian work

The Ukrainian Red Cross shared its experience of humanitarian work with foreign colleagues.

"Ukraine is suffering not only from shelling, but also from the daily impact of war on everyone's lives - children who wake up at night from explosions, people who have lost their jobs or homes. It has become much more difficult for people to get basic medical care, and the system is extremely overloaded. All this affects not only physical but also mental health,‘ emphasised Ilya Kletskovsky, Deputy Director General of the URCS, during the international discussion ’Humanity in Crisis" in Helsinki, Finland.

As reported by the URCS on its official Facebook page, Kletskovsky described how volunteers and employees of the organisation are responding to the challenges of full-scale war.

He also emphasised the important role of volunteers and civil society in Ukraine, as they have been the driving force behind the evacuation of people, the provision of first aid and the distribution of humanitarian aid.
