Shmyhal plans to intensify work of defense ministry in three key areas

The newly appointed Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal thanked the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his introduction to the Defense Ministry team and emphasized that he plans to intensify the work of the ministry in three key areas.
"First of all, providing military personnel with everything they need. Weapons, clothing, ammunition, food, medical and psychological support. Special emphasis on the timeliness and completeness of financial support," Shmyhal wrote in the Telegram channel.
He highlighted the provision of weapons to the army as the second area.
"Our goal is to fulfill the tasks set for the ministry by the President of Ukraine. There should be more Ukrainian weapons at the front. In the area of special attention are new technological solutions: UAVs, in particular, interceptor drones, fiber-optic drones, FPV drones, Deep Strike, robotic complexes, a missile program, Ukrainian ballistics and much more. The key aspect is integration with partners. The Ukrainian and European defense industry must form a single ecosystem. We will expand the circle of partners within the Danish model, we will develop coalitions of capabilities," the minister said.
The third direction, he called the construction of an effective system that will allow for quick, flexible and effective decisions, and tracking the key performance indicators (KPIs) of each employee.
"Currently, more than 60% of state budget expenditures go to the security and defense sector. Financial resources must be spent with maximum efficiency to strengthen Ukraine," he noted.
"There is an enormous amount of work ahead. Every decision and its successful implementation means saving people's lives, strengthening Ukraine and bleeding the enemy, bringing peace closer for millions of Ukrainians," Shmyhal summarized.
