EU ambassador welcomes ARMA law signing: meets Ukraine Facility Q1 commitments
EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Maternova has welcomed the signing by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of the law on the reform of the National Agency of Ukraine for the Detection, Tracing and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA), noting that this was a commitment of the country under the Ukraine Facility program back in the first quarter of this year.
"We welcome the adoption and signing of the ARMA law. A concrete step towards more effective asset management and public trust - in line with the commitments under the Ukraine Facility for the first quarter," Maternova said on X on Monday.
As reported, on July 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on the reform of ARMA, which the Verkhovna Rada had adopted on June 18 (draft law No. 12374-d). On July 15, the Verkhovna Rada did not support the resolution to repeal the decision to adopt the law on the reform of ARMA (resolution No. 12374-d-P).
