Shmyhal holds meeting with head of US embassy: We are preparing new important projects

Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal reported on holding a "substantive and meaningful" meeting in Kyiv with US Chargé d'Affaires ad interim in Ukraine Julie Davis, Defense Attaché at the US Embassy in Ukraine Brigadier General Brad Nicholson, and Commander of SAG-U and NSATU Lieutenant General Curtis Buzzard.
"I thanked the United States, President Trump, and Congress for the extraordinary level of support. In particular, for announcing the transfer of Patriot systems and long-range weapons. This is important for protecting people from daily Russian shelling," Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to him, they discussed with the American side the status of implementation of agreements in the field of defense support and the development of bilateral cooperation, in particular on joint production of drones.
"We are preparing new important projects," the minister announced.
The parties also summed up the results of the meeting in the Ramstein format. Separately, Shmyhal thanked US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for his participation.
"It is important to hold the next meeting in a face-to-face format in the near future," Shmyhal added.
According to him, Ukraine is working in close coordination with American partners.
"Achieving lasting peace through force remains our goal. And we are convinced that this can be achieved under US leadership," the head of the department emphasized.
