Post-war Ukraine reconstruction must prioritize human dimension, First Lady tells Ukrainian-Japanese Forum

The wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Olena Zelenska, has taken part in the Ukrainian-Japanese Forum in Tokyo, dedicated to promoting the economic recovery of Ukraine, and during her speech emphasized that the human dimension must be taken into account in the post-war reconstruction of the state, the head of state's website reported on Monday.
"Rebuilding houses and enterprises is necessary, but not enough. Because they are not needed if people do not live in them, do not work in them. We say: Let's restore a person - a person will restore everything."Therefore, one of the most important dimensions of reconstruction is the restoration of human capital," the first lady said.
The first lady spoke about the school nutrition reform and shared information about the projects of the Olena Zelenska Foundation aimed at helping children in Ukraine. She thanked Japan for significant financial, humanitarian and technical assistance to Ukraine.
Representatives of the government, business and international organizations attended the event. The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Taras Kachka.
