One civilian in the Donetsk region was killed and seven others were injured as a result of shelling by Russian occupiers over the past day, Donetsk Regional Military Administration head Vadym Filashkin said on Tuesday, August 5.

"In Pokrovsk, one person was killed and three were injured, a house was damaged. In Toretske, Shakhivska community, five houses were damaged," Filashkin wrote on Telegram on Wednesday morning.

The rest of the victims were in the Kramatorsk district. "In Zarechne, Lymanska community, a person was injured. In Znamenivka, Oleksandrivska community, a house was damaged. In Kostiantynivka, three people were injured, 39 private houses and a religious building were damaged," the head of the regional administration reported.

According to him, in Siversk, Bakhmutsky district, four houses were damaged.

In total, over the past 24 hours, Russian occupiers have shelled settlements in the Donetsk region 16 times, Filashkin reported.

Some 678 people were evacuated from the front line on Tuesday, including 63 children.

Compared to Monday, the number of shellings has increased, and the scale of evacuations has decreased.
