Finland delivers 31 rescue vehicles to Ukraine since January

Between January and July this year, Finland provided Ukraine with a total of 31 rescue vehicles, and 32 trucks of other civil aid, the Finnish government jas said.
"Ukraine's need for assistance remains significant and diverse. The current focus is on providing Ukraine with rescue vehicles and supplies for the energy and healthcare sectors. This year, Finland has sent fire engines, control units, ambulances, generators and hospital equipment and supplies to Ukraine. The functioning of Ukrainian society has also been supported with communication equipment and donated buses," the statement said.
The government noted that Ukraine's rescue services are vulnerable to attacks, as Russia has systematically carried out double strikes on Ukrainian rescue personnel working at the sites of missile attacks.
The civil aid materials from Finland are being delivered to Ukraine through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. The mechanism allows EU Member States and participating countries of the Civil Protection Mechanism to submit offers of assistance, which the recipient country then accepts based on its needs. The system integrates offers of assistance from individual countries into a pan-European mechanism that ensures effective assistance by combining the different strengths of the donor countries. Since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression, Finland has delivered a total of 126 vehicles and 414 trucks of other civilian material assistance to Ukraine.
