Lithuanian Defense Ministry announces military exercises near Belarus border

The tactical exercises Arsus vilkas 2025 (Furious Wolf 2025) will be held from August 11 to 20 in the Varensk district of Lithuania, which borders the Grodno region of Belarus, the press service of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense has said.
"During the first week of the exercises, infantry companies and headquarters will be redeployed to the Varensk district, where they will conduct defensive actions in settlements using Vilkas infantry fighting vehicles and other military equipment. During the second week of the exercises, units will conduct live fire exercises at the division level at the Gaižiunai training ground," the report said.
The department warned of intensive movement of military equipment on the roads of the Varensk district during the exercises.
