Border guards detain father-son duo with modified trucks for illegal border smuggling - emergency service
On the outskirts of Izmail, border guards uncovered hiding places that a father and son had set up in trucks to transport the violators to Romania, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports.
"Three people from Zaporizhia, Khmelnytsky and Donetsk regions were found in the shafts of telescopic hydraulic cylinders that lift the trailer. During the movement, they sat in the cabins, and in front of the checkpoints they hid in dangerous compartments without ventilation, risking their health and life," the message on the Service’s Telegram channel states.
It is noted that no one had documents for legal border crossing, and each had to pay $8,000 for the "trip."
A criminal case has been opened against the father and son, and administrative protocols have been drawn up against the "passengers."
