Stefanchuk and Kidawa-Blonska confirm parliamentary unanimity on 'nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine' principle

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk and Polish Senate Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska has confirmed the unanimity of the Ukrainian and Polish parliaments on the principle of "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine."

"I had a telephone conversation with Polish Senate Marshal Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska... I highly appreciate her clear position: no decisions about Ukraine - without Ukraine. On this issue, the position of our parliaments is unanimous," Stefanchuk wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

He stressed that any agreements adopted without Ukraine's participation will only encourage Russia to make new attempts to seize foreign territories.

"I called for not reducing the volume of military and financial assistance until decisions are made that meet Ukraine's interests, and for continuing sanctions pressure on the aggressor," the Ukrainian parliament speaker noted.

Stefanchuk also added that he agreed with his colleague to actively cooperate at the level of parliamentary diplomacy to achieve a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine and Europe.
