US President Donald Trump has departed Washington and is flying to Anchorage, Alaska, for a summit with Vladimir Putin.
According to the White House press office, the flight was expected to depart at 6:45 a.m. local time (1:45 p.m. ET), but the plane left Washington later.
The president is scheduled to arrive back early Saturday morning, August 16, at 4:35 a.m. (11:35 a.m. ET).
The meeting between Trump and Putin will take place at Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage.
