Ukrposhta closes branch in Kostiantynivka – CEO

State-owned Ukrposhta JSC is closing its last branch in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk Oblast, from August 20 for security reasons, Director General Igor Smelyansky has said.

"It has become too dangerous to continue working, and the preservation of the lives of employees and customers has outweighed the desire to support those who still remain in the city," Smelyansky wrote on Telegram on Wednesday.

In March of this year, the CEO announced the cessation of receiving parcels to Kostiantynivka and the limitation of services to the payment of pensions and social assistance, as well as the sending of parcels so that people who are being evacuated can send their belongings. At that time, the company had six branches in the city.

According to Smelyansky, currently Ukrposhta branches remain in Druzhkivka and Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka, which are located 5-7 km from Kostiantynivka, and continue to work and serve customers.

"We are also working in Dobropillia, although many nearby have already closed (almost all). Of course, we analyze the situation every day and will act accordingly," the CEO added.

Smelyansky thanked his colleagues, the military and the local officials for their work and support, hoping to announce the news that Ukrposhta will reopen its doors in Kostiantynivka.

Nova Poshta, the largest player in the express delivery market, closed the last of the four branches of the network that operated in Kostiantynivka in May 2025 for security reasons.
