Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russians carried out "demonstrative strikes" on Ukraine overnight with more than 60 drones and a ballistic missile, in particular, a gas distribution station in the Odessa region was attacked.

"(…) There was a vile strike on a gas distribution station in the Odesa region," he wrote in a telegram on Wednesday.

The president noted that 14 people were injured that night in a drone strike on Okhtyrka in Sumy region. A family with wounded children — five months, four years, six years old — appealed for help after the shelling. In Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region, five apartment buildings were damaged by a (aerial bomb) KAB strike, and at least three people are still under the rubble. A rescue operation is underway. "There were also shelling of Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions. In total, more than 60 drones and a ballistic missile," the post says.

The President emphasized that these are demonstrative strikes that only confirm the need for "pressure on Moscow, the need to introduce new sanctions and tariffs."

"All these are demonstrative strikes that only confirm the need for pressure on Moscow, the need to introduce new sanctions and tariffs until diplomacy works to its full potential. I thank all partners who are helping to stop this Russian war. Together with the United States, Europe, and everyone who wants peace, we work every day to guarantee security. We need strong security guarantees to ensure a truly reliable and lasting peace," Zelenskyy said.
