We are liberating Ukrainian territory, reinforcing units – Syrsky in Donetsk region
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky reported on a working trip to units performing combat missions in the Donetsk region and the decisions made to strengthen the resilience of defense.
"I had fruitful discussions with brigade and corps commanders in order to have the most detailed and objective information possible about the situation on the battlefield and in the management levels. Based on reports on needs and problematic issues, I made the necessary decisions to strengthen the resilience of defense," Syrsky wrote in Telegram on Wednesday.
According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are capable of continuing to carry out their assigned tasks. "We are defending and liberating Ukrainian territory. Units in the Donetsk region are receiving comprehensive assistance and reinforcements for this," the commander-in-chief emphasized.
Syrsky noted that the hottest directions remain the Pokrov, Dobropol and Novopavliv directions of the front in the Donetsk region, and the enemy is also increasing pressure in the north of the region, in the Liman direction. "Our units are waging heavy defensive battles against the superior forces of the Russians, restraining their assaults and in some places carrying out active actions in response," Syrsky added.
