Ukraine's Naftogaz, Norway's Equinor sign memo of cooperation – Naftogaz CEO

Naftogaz Group and Norway's Equinor have signed a memorandum of cooperation, Naftogaz of Ukraine CEO Serhiy Koretsky announced.
"We signed a memorandum with Norway's Equinor – a global oil and gas major with cutting-edge expertise in exploration and production. The document provides for an exchange of experience and technologies that will help in the development and modernization of Naftogaz Group," Koretsky wrote on Facebook on Friday.
According to him, Naftogaz and Equinor plan to launch training programs for executives and technical staff, as well as for ESG and decarbonization specialists.
He clarified that in the near future, a joint working group will be created to identify priority projects.
"We value Equinor's support. I am confident our future cooperation will be mutually beneficial and successful," the Naftogaz CEO said.
During Friday's Government Q&A Hour in parliament, Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk said Naftogaz, which recently secured a EUR 0.5 billion loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to purchase gas, is also in talks with the European Investment Bank on financing such acquisitions.
