Shmyhal announces major project to produce Ukrainian weapons in Denmark

Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and his Danish counterpart Troels Lund Poulsen, as well as representatives of the country's parliament, discussed deepening cooperation in the defense-industrial sector, Shmyhal announced a major project to produce Ukrainian weapons in Denmark as part of the Build with Ukraine initiative.
"Ukraine is strengthening industrial cooperation with Denmark. In the near future, we will launch a major project as part of the president's Build with Ukraine initiative. This will allow us to scale up the production of Ukrainian weapons in Denmark and more effectively provide our soldiers with everything they need," Shmyhal wrote on Telegram on Sunday following the meeting.
Shmyhal noted that this is the next stage of cooperation, which began with the Danish model of support, which allowed partners to invest in the production of Ukrainian weapons for the needs of the Defense Forces.
"We discussed the situation on the front and key priorities separately: strengthening air defense to counter Russian terror; developing long-range weapons to force Russia to peace," he added.
"We expect that the Build with Ukraine initiative will be an important contribution to achieving these goals. I sincerely thank Mr. Poulsen for this visit on Independence Day. I thank Denmark, its government and people for the comprehensive support that strengthens the defense capabilities of Ukraine and Europe," the Defense Minister emphasized.
