Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalization of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski criticized President Karol Nawrocki for vetoing an amendment to the law on assistance to citizens, as it will lead to the disconnection of Starlink and cloud data storage services provided by Poland to Ukraine.

"This marks the end of the Starlink internet that Poland provides to war-torn Ukraine. It also means the end of support for storing Ukrainian government data in a safe place," Gawkowski wrote on the X social network on Monday.

According to him, the Polish president should stop blindly attacking the government in the name of political struggle.

"You are harming people who are fighting for their independence, and at the same time helping Russia," Gawkowski stressed.

Ukraine received another batch of 5,000 Starlink terminals from Poland in April 2025. In total, 29,500 Starlinks were sent from Poland. Poland's Ministry of Digital Affairs announced in March that the country had allocated almost PLN 323 million ($88.7 million at the current exchange rate) for Starlink terminals and their subscription for Ukraine in the period from 2022 to 2024. In 2025, the subscription cost is expected to exceed PLN 77 million.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, it has provided the supply of about 50,000 Starlink terminals since the beginning of the war thanks to the support of international partners. In addition to Poland, their work is also paid for by Germany. In addition, Starlink terminals are imported and used in Ukraine by other users who pay for them independently. The total number of Starlink terminals in Ukraine is estimated at approximately 100,000.

Earlier it was reported that Polish President Nawrocki vetoed the law that provided for social benefits and free medical care for unemployed citizens of Ukraine.

Nawrocki proposed his version of the bill, which, in particular, will contain "new solutions for granting citizenship."
