Russian shelling cuts power to Dobropillia mines, 148 miners trapped underground – official
Shelling by Russian occupation forces knocked out power to mines in the Dobropillia community of Donetsk region, leaving 148 miners trapped underground, Mykhailo Volynets, head of Ukraine's Confederation of Free Trade Unions, reported.
"As a result of Russian shelling, mines in the Dobropillia community have lost power. 148 miners remain underground," Volynets wrote on Facebook.
On July 11, a miner was killed in a rockfall at the Almazna mine operated by state-owned Dobropilliavuhillia-Vydobutok.
