83% of educational institutions damaged in Donetsk region
During the full-scale invasion in the Donetsk region, 904 educational institutions were damaged to varying degrees, said Serhiy Babak, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovations.
"During the full-scale invasion in the Donetsk region, 904 educational institutions were damaged to varying degrees. This is 83% of the entire regional fund of educational institutions as of February 24, 2022. Of these, 216 were completely destroyed," Babak said on Telegram.
In particular, general secondary education - 401 institutions were damaged (82%), of which 111 were destroyed, vocational and technical education - 31 institutions were damaged (94%), of which five were completely destroyed, preschool education - 387 institutions were damaged (73%), of which 78 were destroyed and higher education – all institutions were relocated and continue their activities in safer regions of Ukraine (building complexes of 10 universities were damaged).
