Tusk to appoint deputy foreign minister as advisor to remove Nawrocki's aides from Ukraine talks
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk intends to appoint Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Kupiecki as his own security adviser, who will participate in meetings related to peace talks on Ukraine, writes the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza.
"This is a way to remove Karol Nawrocki's aides from expert negotiations on the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine," the newspaper writes, citing its own sources.
According to Gazeta Wyborcza, Kupiecki currently oversees security policy and transatlantic relations at the Polish Foreign Ministry and is an experienced diplomat, in particular, he served as Poland's ambassador to the United States from 2008 to 2012.
"His task will now be to directly inform the Prime Minister about the international situation and threats to the security of Poland and Europe. First of all, he will participate in meetings of key security officials of NATO countries related to the cessation, or rather, suspension, of the war in Ukraine, and promote the Polish position at these meetings," the report says.
