Vestas installs 880 MW wind turbine in Ukraine, continues to operate - regional director

The Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas installed 880 MW wind equipment in Ukraine and continues to operate, having started the implementation of the second stage of DTEK's Tylihulska wind farm, which gives a positive signal to the whole world, said the company's regional director Jose Luis Jimeno.
"We have installed 880 MW of wind turbine capacity in Ukraine. Almost half of all wind power. Now we have started the second stage of Tylihulska wind farm. This shows that it is possible to work in Ukraine. We are showing this to the world," Jimeno said during the Ukrainian Wind Energy Forum-2025 of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, which is taking place in Lviv.
According to him, Ukraine has a large market for wind power plants and can provide an opportunity for foreign businesses to develop projects.
He added that Vestas operates in 88 countries around the world and can help Ukraine carry out not only technical, but also political transformation of the conditions for the development of renewable energy and legislation in order to promote greater investor attraction.
Jimeno also noted that 70% of the company's equipment currently remains in the temporarily occupied territory.
As reported, at this forum, Deputy Head of the Main Department of the Directorate for Socio-Economic Policy of the President's Office Yuriy Shafarenko noted that a total of 1,947 MW of wind power plants have been installed in Ukraine, 1,300 MW of which are on the temporarily occupied territories, another 40 MW have been destroyed or damaged by the Russian Federation.
DTEK built the first stage of the 114 MW Tylihulska wind power plant in Mykolaiv region in 2023 using Vestas turbines, the company has launched the second stage of the 386 MW wind power plant.
