US President Donald Trump, speaking in the Oval Office, vowed to find those responsible for the murder of political activist Charlie Kirk.

"My administration will find everyone who facilitated this crime and other political violence, including the organizations that fund and support it, as well as those who persecute our judges, law enforcement officers and everyone else who maintains order in our country," he said.

The US president linked Kirk's death to his own shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, and other high-profile cases of violence, including the shooting of the head of UnitedHealthcare in New York in December and the shooting of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise in 2017, when he spoke out against "political violence by the radical left."

"This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we are witnessing in our country today, and it must stop immediately. My administration will find every single person who facilitated this crime," Trump said.

Trump promised further action, announcing a broader plan to combat political violence. He said Americans and the media must "recognize that violence and murder are the tragic consequences of demonizing those you disagree with."

"I am filled with grief and anger at the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk on a Utah college campus. Charlie inspired millions, and tonight, all who knew and loved him are united in shock and horror," he added.

American podcast host Charlie Kirk was reportedly shot during a speech on the campus of Valley University in Utah on the evening of September 10. Kirk was hospitalized in critical condition and Trump later announced his death.
