Defense Forces shoot down 33 out of 40 enemy UAVs, hits recorded at three locations

Russian occupiers attacked the territory of Ukraine on the night of Friday with 40 attack drones, hits of six UAVs were recorded in three locations, the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

"According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense shot down/suppressed 33 enemy UAVs of the shahed, Gerbera and other types in the north, east and center of the country. Six attack UAVs were recorded hitting three locations," the Ukrainian Armed Forces said on Telegram.

In total, on the night of September 12 (from 22:00 on September 11), the enemy attacked Ukrainian airspace with 40 shaheds, Gerbera and other types of UAVs from Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk of the Russian Federation directions, more than 20 of them were shaheds.

The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Thus, the effectiveness of the air defense in shooting down UAVs was 82.5%.

As reported, on the night of September 11, Russian occupiers attacked the territory of Ukraine with 66 attack UAVs of the shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones. Air defense shot down/suppressed 62 enemy UAVs, hits of four attack UAVs were recorded at three locations.

The enemy carried out its latest massive air attack on the night of September 10, when the Russian army launched a combined attack on Ukrainian territory on Wednesday night using strike UAVs and land, air, and sea-based missiles. The Defense Forces neutralized 413 air targets, including 386 enemy drones and 27 missiles of various types, with preliminary hits of 16 missiles and 21 strike UAVs recorded at 17 locations, and several UAVs entered Polish airspace.
