Every 5th Kyiv resident believes city should improve rainwater collection and sewage systems

One out of five residents of the Ukrainian capital surveyed in the “Kyiv Digital” application say that for a more comfortable life in Kyiv, the city should first and foremost improve the rainwater collection system and sewage system and increase the number of parks.

The results of a survey on climate change conducted in the application show that, according to 20% of Kyiv residents, the city should first and foremost improve the rainwater collection system and sewage system to make life in the capital more comfortable. Some 19% answered that for a more comfortable life in Kyiv, it is necessary to increase the number of parks, 16% - to create shady areas and cool places for recreation, 14% - to use solar and wind energy, 10% - to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, 9% - to upgrade transport and roads, as well as plant drought-resistant plants and 2% - to inform about climate change.

When asked whether Kyiv residents are interested in the topic of climate change, 2% answered that they work in this field, 60% - that they are interested, read in the media and social networks, 22% - discuss it with friends, 2% - attend environmental events, 14% - are not interested in the topic. In addition, Kyiv residents were asked whether they have environmental habits. To which 28% answered that they save water and electricity, 20% - sort garbage, 14% - take care of animals and plants, 12% - refuse plastic, 12% - refuse cars in favor of public transport, 8% - spread information among acquaintances and friends, 2% - participate in eco-projects, and 4% do not yet have such habits.
