Trump: Russian war against Ukraine not making Russia look 'good'
U.S. President Donald Trump said Russia's war against Ukraine was supposed to be "a matter of days," but it didn't happen, and it doesn't make Russia look "good."
"I'm also working relentlessly stopping the killing in Ukraine. I thought that would be of the seven wars that I stopped, I though that would be the easiest because of my relationship with President Putin, which has always been a good one. But, you know, in war, you never know what's going to happen," he said during a speech at the General Debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
Trump added that "everyone thought Russia would win this war in three days, but it didn't work in that way."
"It was supposed to be just a quick little skirmish. It is making Russia look good. It is making them look bad. No matter what happens, it should be a matter of days, certainly less than a week," the U.S. President added.
According to Trump, "5,000 to 7,000 young soldiers, on both sides, every single week because of the Russian war."
Trump again emphasized that this war would never have started if he were the U.S. president.
