Analysts of the OSINT project DeepState has expressed doubts about the expediency of disbanding the Dnipro Military District under the slogan of introducing a corps system in the army, since "based on the current activities of the corps, they are no different from the operational-tactical groupings (OTGs), which were liquidated due to this reform."

"Liquidation of the operational-strategic group (OSG) Dnipro. According to our sources, this information corresponds to reality, which is "the framework of the reform of the introduction of the corps system." Here one could say that this is a logical step in the process of the army's transition to a corps system, but there is a "but," the OSINT project said on Telegram on Monday.

As noted, the front is currently divided into sectors, where corps have entered, which, according to the concept of the reform, are responsible for these same sectors. "But in the vast majority, it was the corps management that entered these zones, which continue to try to command a collective hodgepodge of units, having an incomplete set of their affiliated brigades (…) Based on the current activities of the corps, they are no different in essence from the OTGs, which were liquidated precisely because of this reform."

It has been reported that it is also "impossible to get rid of the "tactical groups," which are formed from quickly formed groups of fighters without any coordination, with the aim of "restoring," which usually does not lead to anything good. Unfortunately, it was not possible to save the Serebryansk forest in this way..." DeepState said, noting that if the OTGs did not justify themselves in their time and have compromised themselves, then "the operational-strategic grouping (OSG) in the command chain, as a temporary body for the duration of hostilities, still retains its logic, because it is primarily responsible for the direct conduct of hostilities, coordinates the unified management of units in the operational area, manages the distribution of resources, logistics, etc., which should strengthen coordination between the corps, which should primarily be concerned with their area of responsibility, units and their support."

The ezine Ukrainska Pravda said on October 6 that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, at the end of September 2025 disbanded the Dnipro operational-strategic grouping of troops, which had been headed by Major General Mykhailo Drapaty.
