Ukraine's integration into European air defense system an obvious necessity – FM Sybiha

Ukraine's integration into Europe's comprehensive air defense system should become an obvious security reality, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has said.

"And without waiting for the clusters to open, we are working on closing the 'eastern flank ' It is impossible to create an effective air shield, leaving its key part to outsourcing. Ukraine's integration into Europe's comprehensive air defense system is an obvious necessity, and it should become an obvious security reality," he said during his opening remarks at the third International Defense Industry Forum (DFNC3) on Monday.

According to the minister, the European Union's SAFE program creates and opens up an opportunity for Ukrainian arms manufacturers to participate in strengthening the EU right now.

"And we are actively working with our partners so that the funds that will be attracted within the framework of this program are directed, including to joint production with Ukrainian manufacturers. We already have certain positive signals from our partners, and it seems to me that this direction is extremely promising," Sybiha said
