Shmyhal: We’ll work hard to implement military export strategy in coming months

In the coming months, Ukraine will actively work to implement the new military export strategy announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasized.

"In the coming months, we will work hard to implement our export strategy to share not only our experience and knowledge, but also our battlefield-proven products with our allies, friends, and partners," he said during a panel discussion at the third Defense Industries Forum (DFNC3) in Kyiv on Monday.

Shmyhal noted that today, Ukraine's defense-industrial complex is "developing extremely quickly," and therefore some manufacturers have excess capacity.

"Therefore, we need to find a solution to export these new technologies to our partners, and this is an important challenge," the minister added.

At the end of September, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would undertake controlled exports of weapons that remain in production and that would not be in short supply for the Ukrainian army.

On October 6, during the International Defense Industries Forum, Zelenskyy instructed the government, the President’s Office, and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine to develop and present key elements of an arms export program, tentatively titled "Arms." According to him, agreements have already been reached to establish export-import platforms in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.
