EU provides record level of military support to Ukraine this year - Kallas

The European Union is providing Ukraine with a record level of military support in 2025, and new sanctions against Russia will also be adopted soon, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas has said.
At a joint press conference with her Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Syhiha in Kyiv, Kallas stressed that Ukraine has "our full support."
"This year, the European Union is providing Ukraine with a record level of military support. EU sanctions have already deprived Russia of hundreds of billions of euros that it could spend on financing the war. Soon we will adopt new measures aimed at Russia's energy, financial and trade revenues. Russia's military economy is already weak. We will make it even weaker," she noted.
As Kallas emphasized, inflation in Russia now exceeds 20%, "monetary reserves are exhausted, and economic growth is close to zero."
According to her, "time may have once been on Russia's side, but now it is on Ukraine's side."
"Every euro we take from Russia is a euro it cannot spend on war," the EU foreign policy chief said.
She also emphasized that on the battlefield, as US President Donald Trump said, Ukraine can turn the tide in its favor.
"Russia's summer offensive operation has failed. Its minimal territorial gains are accompanied by huge losses and costs on the part of Russia. This is a credit to the bravery of Ukrainian soldiers and the support of Europe and NATO," Kallas said.
